Japan's Earhtquake & Tsunami 11th March 2011


News has been breaking here and there about the latest earthquake that caused also tsunami to happen in Sendai, Japan.

According to the news information, this is one of the severe earthquake that ever happen in the history of Japan. With magnitude of 8.8 happened at 2:46pm on March 11 (JST), this cause a huge impact to the country of Japan.



Train transportation went haywire, blackout, fire and lost of various properties.

By the moment this blog was being published, hundreds was killed, with hundreds gone missing in Japan.

According to CNN, the Friday's 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan was the largest earthquake since a 9.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Banda Aceh area of Indonesia on December 26, 2004, causing a massive tsunami that killed about 250,000 people in 14 countries and washed away entire communities. The tsunami caused nearly $10 billion in damage and more casualties than any other tsunami in history, according to the United Nations.

What about Malaysia??

News has been released as well saying that Malaysia is still safe for now. No reports about any Malaysian was being killed or gone missing etc. At least for now... We pray & hope for the best for them!

The Foreign Ministry said in a press statement that the Malaysian embassy in Tokyo was monitoring the situation and contacting students and other Malaysians in the affected areas. It said all Malaysian embassy officials and their families were safe.

Malaysia urged the residents of Borneo Islands to stay away from coastal areas as precautions, though Malaysia beaches are still safe for now.
