The New is Drawing Near!

Wow, can you ever imagine that 2011 is coming to a close, and the cheer of 2012 is drawing near? In less than a week, we shall bid farewell to 2011, and welcome 2012!

So, how should we welcome 2012?

1) Welcome the year 2012 with GREAT Expectation!

Put some faith in your future 2012. Increase your expectation in your future. Raise your hope in 2012! Only people that raise up high biblical expectation will be able to see God's promises being fulfilled in their lives.

And indeed if you think you're a genius at something, what you achieve is very much according to your expectations; if you think you're no good, you're not going to get anywhere
~ Diana Wynne Jones
(British Writer) ~

Based on history the expectations are simply the highest, it kind of could become a burden for you or it could be something that you are really proud of, you know so I take the second one. ~ Jurgen Klinsmann (German Footballer & Manager) ~

However, some people are scared of raising high expectation for themselves. "They higher the hope, the higher the disappointment", they say. Oh, how many great potential and talents has been wasted and forgotten by believing in that great deception!

Let's be aware that God has promised us great future, and we are to just take a small baby step for us to explore our hidden potential. You can surprise even yourself if you allow you to!
Stop robbing yourself of your great future! Venture out by faith!

You just need to flip the wings that God has given to you, and God will supply the air to keep you flying!

"’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’" ~ Jeremiah 29:11 ~

2) Welcome the year 2012 with WIDER Perspective & Vision

There's a famous Malay proverb that says, "Seperti katak di bawah tempurung", which literally translated as "Like frog underneath coconut shell". It means that our world is so small, that it never goes beyond the size of a coconut shell! Since that poor frog is under the coconut shell, and all of us know that the coconut shell is not transparent (most probably that frog doesn't know this), whatever that frog is able to see, that's its world. The world is defined by what we see.

A person can grow only as much as his horizon allows.
~ John Powell ~

Never look down to test the ground before taking your next step; only he who keeps his eye fixed on the far horizon will find the right road. ~ Dag Hammarskjold ~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Expand your horizon.
Enlarge your vision.
Elaborate your perception.
Extend your perspective.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

How far you see, is how far you can go. Don't be that poor frog, only living under the coconut shell. Be an eagle instead, soaring high in the sky to see the far horizon.

When you start to see the far horizon, you start to see new things. You start to see the bigger picture. You start to understand new truths.

How we can we enlarge our perspective then?

Perhaps you can try the following:

a) Start to looks beyond yourself. Involve other people in your lives.
b) Listen to others. Listen actively. Hear the emotion. Hear the good side of the intention.
c) Be open to changes (within God's boundaries of course). Explore new ways of doing things (though some has been working perfectly fine for now).
d) Use your senses in a creative ways. Go beyond your normal routines. Try some new food. Hear some new music. Watch a so called boring movie? Or perhaps learn a new language. Use some new roads.

e) Find ways to surprise yourself. Create new opportunities for yourself. Open some new doors. It may lead you to another world altogether!

f) Take some risk. Take a step of faith. Take courage. Be a conqueror.

A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. You must break out of your current comfort zone and become comfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown.
~ Denis Waitley ~

Where there is no vision, there is no hope. ~ George Washington Carver (American scientist, educator, inventor) ~

Let 2012 be a year that you can stand on higher ground.
Be a frog that stand on the coconut shell (katak di atas tempurung).

3) Welcome the year 2012 with the Presence of the Holy Spirit

Zechariah 4:6 (NIV)
So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.

Zechariah 4:6 (NLT)
Then he said to me, “This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Let depend on the Holy Spirit to help us fulfill what God want us to fulfill.
When you depend on the Holy Spirit - you can work without much sweat. You are in relax mode. Stress cannot overwhelm you, but you can even use stress for your advantage.

Naturally, things can be done effortlessly. Naturally, success just flow to your life. When we depend on the Holy Spirit, we are merely saying, "God, I trust in You".
God takes pleasure in those who trust Him (Psalm 147:11). Oh, what could happen when God is pleased with you? Surely God will open up more door of blessings to your life! Because God is delighted in you, God is drawn to you more. His presence will be ever stronger in your life.

How to depend on the Holy Spirit then?

a) Focus on the Holy Spirit's ability, not on our own disability

b) Pray in the Spirit - it's the easiet thing to do! You don't even have to use your mind to do it! You just need to pray. Just pray it!

c) Listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Listen and obey. Listen and follow. One step at a time.

As a conclusion, let us raise up a greater expectation and see with a wider vision for 2012. And let us partner with the Holy Spirit to achieve greater heights in Him. Forget about the former things that could hold us back, and let's look forward for the great future that God has in store for us in 2012.

Finally, I hope and pray that 2012 will be another year of new venture and breakthrough for all of us!

New Things - New Passion

What are the NEW things you want to see happen in your life this year?

Isaiah 43:18-19
Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!

2 Cor 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
the old has gone, the new has come!

New is always exciting. New generates anticipation.
New captures attention. New is not boring.
New is just simply fun by it nature.

Today I went to "Da Yau" with our HUSc guys. It is a song composing concert organized annually in UM. The crowd was huge. The cheers was certainly loud! The atmosphere was indeed warm and loving too!

I can see that this "DaYau" thing has indeed sparks wonders in people's lives.
In "DaYau", new songs will be sung either by the composer themselves or by a talented singer.
A chance of opportunities for the younger generation to express themselves in creative ways.
A voice from the inner soul to the outer world.

New song just excites people.
In fact, new things just by it nature turns people on!

God also wants to do new things in our lives too.
He asks us to leave behind the old things and go for the new!
Perhaps a new vision in God. A new breakthrough in our relationship with Him.
A fresh start of falling in love all over again with Him!
A new passion for God.

God wants to start new thing in us individually.
Forget about the past failures or even successes.
Take a new adventure with God today!
And see how He turns your life in a new way!
Ways that you never expects before.

So start a new day with new expectations in God.
He will be doing new things in your life today!
And start to experience that excitements in your life!
Greater things are yet to come!

What is Your Passion?

Passion.

Indeed, it's been a great one this time for BC. Been blessed in so many ways! Wow~~~ PTL!

Firstly, the wonderful inspirational teachings from all our pastors speakers.
Ps Moses >> With Joy of the Lord, you'll have no pimples! (no wonder my face is so...)
Ps Simon >> He can speak Indian slang! :D

One thing we did practically about discovering & confirming about our passion is by asking these 2 Questions to ourselves about Passion:
1) What are we passionate about?
2) Who are we passionate about?

For these questions, we had a group sharing among the HUSC brothers, and most of them are confirming about my passion:
Motivational Inflluence towards Students - that's so true! :)
Thanks guys!

Secondly, been blessed by the fellowship and fun we had in the ministry houses as we are hosting some cool brothers from Hope Ipoh.

Listening to their life stories of they come to know Christ just reminded me of how God is working strongly in this new young Gen-Y generation.
(How a bro eventually come to know Christ in Prayer Meeting because God spoke to him in his dream is really amazing - that God is working 24hours! Cool!)

Just inspired me to keep on investing in the lives of the all the future leaders of the nation from UM/UTAR/MAHSA!

>> To know more about these cool passionate brothers, check out their blog too: http://www.witheverything.blogspot.com/

Thirdly,
I joined the intercession on Sat morning. Bro Peter shared one thing about the word Passion. That the word Passion consists of the word Pass. Passion is suppose to be infectious. It needs to be passed on to the others! What a truth about Passion! Let's pass on the passionate fire to others as well! Amen!

Fourthly,
the testimonies! Angie Kong (Hope Kuantan) and Auntie Stephanie (PKC teacher). Their testimonies of how they dedicate their lives to serve the Lord is just a great example for us to follow.

Angie Kong>> God can use us even when we have no experience or much knowledge about a particular ministry. Just do it for the Lord.

Auntie Stephanie>> Her conviction is the one thing that makes her to be passionate! And the story of how she was being inspired by a living testimony of a Christian during her school days in Australia. Being different and stand for the truth she believed in. Nice!

Fifthly, the Worship. Somehow the Holy Spirit just touched me when I was singing the song: Come to my Rescue. Tears again poured out from my eyes.
Oh Lord, may You be lifted high in every fibre of our being!

Check out the link for the song:

Sixthly, well my mum is here again! This is the second time my mum is joining Bible Conference (in 6months?) since she accepted the Lord! Well, not to mention about the MNC in Penang too of course last Dec 2010. God is just great! What else can I say? :))

Finally, the Word of God.
Hebrews 12:2

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV 1984)

Jesus is the perfect example of how we should be living our lives. Knowing His calling and conviction, he lived is such a way to fulfill His mission on earth, regardless of anything. Let's us draw strength and inspiration from Him, through the power of the Holy Spirit!

That's all for now, what a fruitful and memorable BC this time around.
May all of us catch the fire of the Spirit and burnt passionately for Christ!
Amen!!!

Life is about doing and living for the things that you are Passionate about.
So what are you passionate about, today?

What is Hope?

Most people understand hope as wishful thinking, as in "I hope something will happen." This is not what the Bible means by hope. The Biblical definition of hope is "confident expectation." Hope is a firm assurance regarding things that are unclear and unknown (Romans 8:24-25; Hebrews 11:1,7). Hope is a fundamental component of the life of the righteous (Proverbs 23:18). Without hope, life loses its meaning (Lamentations 3:18, Job 7:6) and in death there is no hope (Isaiah 38:18, Job 17:15). The righteous who trust or put their hope in God will be helped (Psalm 28:7), and they will not be confounded, put to shame, or disappointed (Isaiah 49:23). The righteous who have this trustful hope in God have a general confidence in God's protection and help (Jeremiah 29:11) and are free from fear and anxiety (Psalm 46:2-3).

The New Testament idea of hope is the recognition that in Christ is found the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises and hope (Matthew 12:21, 1 Peter 1:3). Christian hope is rooted in the faith in the eschatological (end time judgment) act of divine salvation in Christ (Galatians 5:5). Hope of Christians is brought into being through the presence of the promised Holy Spirit (Romans 8:24-25). It is the future hope of the resurrection of the dead (Acts 23:6), the promises given to Israel (Acts 26:6-7), the redemption of the body and of the whole creation (Romans 8:23-25), eternal glory (Colossians 1:27), eternal life and the inheritance of the saints (Titus 3:5-7), the return of Christ (Titus 2:11-14), transformation into the likeness of Christ (1 John 3:2-3), the salvation of God (1 Timothy 4:10) or simply Christ Himself (1 Timothy 1:1).

The certainty of this blessed future is guaranteed through the indwelling of the Spirit (Romans 8:23-25), Christ in us (Colossians 1:27), and the resurrection of Christ (Acts 2:26). Hope is produced by endurance through suffering (Romans 5:2-5) and is the inspiration behind endurance (1 Thessalonians 1:3, Hebrews 6:11). Those who hope in Christ will see Christ exalted in life and in death (Philippians 1:20). Trustworthy promises from God give us hope (Hebrews 6:18-19), and we may boast in this hope (Hebrews 3:6) and exhibit great boldness in our faith (2 Corinthians 3:12). By contrast, those who do not place their trust in God are said to be without hope (Ephesians 2:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13).

Along with faith and love, hope is an enduring virtue of the Christian life (1 Corinthians 13:13), and love springs from hope (Colossians 1:4-5). Hope produces joy and peace in believers through the power of the Spirit (Romans 12:12, 15:13). Paul attributes his apostolic calling to the hope of eternal glory (Titus 1:1-2). Hope in the return of Christ is the basis for believers to purify themselves in this life (Titus 2:11-14, 1 John 3:3).

H.O.P.E >> How amazing it is. Do you have HOPE today?

Clean Heart to Prevent Heart Attack

John 17:17-19
Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
Our lives are like a blood vessel. It needs to be clean to be able to be used for it's optimum capacity. If something is blocking, blood cannot flow smoothly. In fact, If any of the blood vessel supplying the heart (coronary arteries) get completely blocked (coronary thrombosis), the part of the heart muscle that's deprived of blood dies, causing a heart attack (myocardial infarction).

No blood - No life.

Let's our lives be free from any contaminants that will blocked the flow of the river of God into our lives. When we are clean, the power will flows into our lives as well. We can enter into His presence. Surely we shall be blessed abundantly.
